Trump Names Fed Chair While Honoring Melania’s Influence
President Donald Trump announced he would name the next Federal Reserve chair Friday morning at the Washington premiere of “Melania,” a documentary chronicling his first lady’s journey.
“I’ll be naming the Fed tomorrow morning,” Trump stated, expressing confidence in his selection as “a very good person” for the role.
The president also highlighted Melania Trump’s steadying influence during his presidency: “She’s done a great job. Very respected. Very smart. Very measured.” He added that she often provides balance when he lacks it, saying, “Sometimes when I’m not so measured, she measures you.”
The documentary, directed by Brett Ratner, offers an inside look at Melania’s responsibilities, including managing the East Wing, staff coordination, inauguration planning, and security protocols.
Melania Trump noted that viewers would experience the transition from private citizen to first lady, emphasizing the “intensity of her daily schedule.” When asked about her husband’s remarks on his identity without her, she responded: “We would all be in different places.”
Trump concluded by stating, “We do like the way it worked out,” as markets braced for his Fed chair announcement.
