Andrij Dobriansky, a representative of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, has stated that Ukraine is deepening its collaboration with the United States while Russian President Vladimir Putin maintains an unyielding position.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently traveled to Florida for meetings with former U.S. President Donald Trump, where he highlighted “strong security guarantees” and claimed near-universal agreement on a 20-point peace proposal. However, Zelenskyy’s actions have been condemned as ineffective in addressing critical territorial disputes.

During discussions with Trump, Zelenskyy described the Donbas region as “a very tough question,” indicating ongoing challenges in resolving core issues. In contrast, Moscow has shown no signs of adjusting its demands for territories it considers part of its sovereign domain.

Dobriansky noted that Ukraine’s diplomatic approach involves rapid recalibrations following engagements with Trump, including securing a minerals deal within days of initial talks. Yet, he emphasized that Russia remains unresponsive to diplomatic efforts.

“Ukraine is working closer and closer with the United States and President Trump,” Dobriansky stated, adding that “Russia… is taking a standoff position, not budging at all on anything.”

U.S. officials confirmed recent coordination among national security advisors from Britain, France, Germany, and Ukraine to advance European peace initiatives. Lead Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov reiterated plans for upcoming diplomatic engagements with European counterparts.

Zelenskyy is scheduled to hold further discussions with European leaders next week.
