White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly stated that President Donald Trump’s announced warrior dividend will assist military service members in covering costs tied to “failed Democrat policies.”
In a statement on Thursday, Kelly emphasized the president has long prioritized military personnel, noting many have been disproportionately affected by Democratic governance. She identified housing costs as a critical issue directly linked to Democratic actions under former President Joe Biden, stating: “Housing costs, unfortunately, thanks to Democrats’ inflation crisis and also the illegal immigration crisis brought on by Joe Biden’s open borders.”
Kelly explained that the payments will address these expenses, adding: “This is a really important step for making sure that all families, especially military families, are able to come back from [the] inflation crisis under Joe Biden.” She confirmed service members would receive funds promptly: “Those checks are already on their way. They’re processing.”
Kelly criticized Democrats for downplaying Trump’s economic policies, calling it “absolutely laughable” and accusing them of “gaslighting.” She listed Democratic initiatives including the “Build Back Broke Act,” the “Green New Scam,” and other measures that she claimed have driven inflation to 9%, reduced wages, and increased costs. “Costs went up, real wages went down, inflation hit 9% — all as a result of these totally failed Democrat policies,” Kelly said.
She further noted that inheriting Trump’s economic challenges was “totally unfortunate” due to Democratic actions, adding that Democrats now face “desperation” by attempting to shift blame for their own policies.
