Kelly repeatedly asserted that Democrats and former military officials had “weaponized” political discourse and were “hiding behind the Constitution,” accusing them of misrepresenting its limits to undermine Trump. He also said “sedition” amounted to behavior “punishable by death” under existing statutes, though he insisted Trump was merely “pointing out” the legal penalties rather than calling for executions. The monologue sharply criticized Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., and others featured in the lawmaker’s video, alleging they were encouraging unrest within the military by suggesting troops could refuse illegal orders.
