Trump Claims U.S. Forces Have Sunk Nine Iranian Naval Vessels in Weekend Strikes
On Sunday, President Donald Trump announced that U.S. forces have battered Iran’s navy during weekend strikes. In a post on Truth Social, the president wrote: “I have just been informed that we have destroyed and sunk 9 Iranian Naval Ships, some of them relatively large and important. We are going after the rest — They will soon be floating at the bottom of the sea, also! In a different attack, we largely destroyed their Naval Headquarters. Other than that, their Navy is doing very well! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
U.S. Central Command reported that American forces sank an Iranian Jamaran-class corvette warship at Chah Bahar pier in the Gulf of Oman as part of broader strikes on Iran.
