Super Bowl security planning has been underway for months under a U.S. Secret Service-led framework that has repeatedly delivered smooth coordination for major national events, according to Ken Cuccinelli.

Cuccinelli stated on Thursday that the process is “routine and operationally steady.” Planning for the upcoming Super Bowl has been ongoing for approximately nine months and is led by the Secret Service as the primary agency responsible for national security events.

“The security side runs very smoothly,” he said. “It’s a formula they’ve used many times, many Super Bowls in the past.”

Cuccinelli emphasized that while multiagency coordination typically involves dozens of law enforcement agencies—a complex task—it has consistently been successful: “They’ve always been very successful.”

Addressing online rumors suggesting immigration enforcement could target fans due to the halftime performer’s Spanish language skills, Cuccinelli dismissed the claims as “stupid.” He noted, “Just because it’s performed in Spanish isn’t a basis for anybody to judge anything,” adding that the United States has a substantial second-language Spanish population.

Cuccinelli remarked that the NFL’s decision on halftime entertainment is theirs alone: “That’s the NFL’s call. And so, they’ll lose money, and they’ll have less advertising for the television revenue.”

The NFL’s Super Bowl LX will take place on Sunday, February 8, featuring a Seattle vs. New England matchup at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
