Rubio Extols Chilean President-Elect Kast’s Landslide Victory

Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday praised the conservative winner of Chile’s presidential election in a landslide victory.

In a statement, Rubio congratulated President-Elect Jose Antonio Kast, stating: “The United States congratulates President-Elect Jose Antonio Kast of Chile on his electoral victory.”

The U.S. official noted that under Kast’s leadership, Chile would advance shared priorities including strengthening public security, ending illegal immigration, and revitalizing commercial relationships.

Additionally, Rubio expressed confidence in the future partnership: “The United States looks forward to working closely with his administration to deepen our partnership and promote shared prosperity in our hemisphere.”
