Rep. Nicole Malliotakis Vows to Combat ‘Communist’ Policies in New York City

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., pledged to resist what she described as radical, Karl Marx-inspired communist policies threatening New York City, stating on Newsmax that she stands with President Donald Trump to protect the city’s police, taxpayers, and conservative values. The congresswoman condemned New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s far-left agenda, vowing to use all available resources in Washington to “stop it.”
Appearing on Newsmax’s Saturday Report, Malliotakis expressed concern over rising radicalism among city politicians and outlined her fight against a politically motivated redistricting effort targeting her district. She criticized Mamdani’s policies as dangerous, noting, “His policies are very radical and right out of the playbook of Karl Marx.”
Malliotakis emphasized that while Democrats dominate New York’s political landscape, she plans to leverage federal oversight to counter what she called a “communist agenda” in the city. She argued that federal agencies’ involvement in permitting, approvals, and funding could be used to block support for Mamdani’s policies, which she claimed “completely rejected Zohran Mamdani.”
The congresswoman also criticized Democrats for attempting to remove her seat through gerrymandering, calling a lawsuit challenging her district’s boundaries a political tactic to eliminate New York’s only Republican voice in Congress. She stated, “They are bringing this frivolous lawsuit to try to tilt the scale by changing the lines because they cannot win on merit and debate.”
Malliotakis reiterated her commitment to defending the city’s police, counterterrorism efforts, and middle-class workers amid what she described as “Democrat one-party rule.” She highlighted her repeated legal battles over redistricting, vowing to take the fight to the Supreme Court if necessary. “We will — we will — take it to the Supreme Court if we have to,” she said.
