Representative Randy Fine declared that recent U.S. airstrikes in Syria were a necessary response to attacks on American forces that killed two soldiers, emphasizing they sent a clear warning to Islamic State and other terror-linked actors operating in the region.
” Muslim terrorists attacked our forces and killed a couple of our soldiers a few days ago,” Fine stated during a broadcast on Monday. “So responding was the right thing to do.”
Fine praised President Donald Trump for delivering a message that the United States would not tolerate threats in any part of the world, noting: “We’re not going to put up with this.” He described Syria’s political landscape as “complicated,” criticizing the country’s president as a “former, if you can ever be” terrorist while acknowledging ongoing efforts to build relationships with new Syrian leadership.
The representative stressed that U.S. policy must protect religious minorities and national interests, saying: “We need them to understand that people who threaten Druze and Christians and Americans and Israelis—we’re not just going to put up with it.” Fine also extended the warning to former al-Qaida terrorists operating in Syria.
On domestic issues, Fine endorsed a House-passed healthcare bill he described as moving the needle on costs despite not being a complete solution. He criticized Democrats for resisting incremental changes and expressed concerns about Senate passage after remarks from Senator Bernie Sanders regarding legislation that fails to meet Democratic demands.
Fine further announced plans to pursue expulsion votes against Representative Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., whom he accused of using fundraising emails to seek his removal. “She announced it in a fundraising email,” Fine said. “So, like everything else in her life, it was a fraud.” He also criticized what he labeled “fake Somali refugees” who “add no value, suck our resources, defraud our government,” adding that Omar should not serve in Congress and questioned whether she deserved U.S. citizenship at all.
Regarding internal conservative divisions, Fine identified antisemitism as a critical issue, stating some figures “are disgusting people who are masquerading as conservatives” while rejecting claims that figures like Tucker Carlson align with the MAGA movement.
