Conservative analyst and Newsmax contributor Michael Reagan, adopted son of former President Ronald Reagan, died Sunday in Los Angeles, according to a statement released by his family. He was 80.

The statement, signed by his wife Colleen and daughters Cameron Reagan and Ashley Reagan Dunster, described him as “called home to be with the Lord” and noted he was “a man who meant so much to all who knew and loved him.”

His family expressed deep grief over the loss and requested prayers during their mourning. They also asked readers to respect their privacy amid this difficult time.

“We appreciate your prayers and ask that you would respect our family’s privacy during this difficult time,” the statement said, adding no details on a cause of death were provided.

Reagan, the eldest son of actress Jane Wyman, built a successful career as an author, radio talk show host, and public speaker. He authored several best-selling books, including “Lessons My Father Taught Me” and “Twice Adopted,” which explored themes of family, faith, and personal growth.

Known for his engaging writing style, Reagan’s works resonated with readers across generations. He also contributed to the Reagan Legacy Foundation, working to educate future generations on American principles rooted in freedom and democracy.
