Kari Lake, the acting CEO of the U.S. Agency for Global Media, criticized former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., during a Newsmax interview, mocking her public appearances and policies. Lake referenced Pelosi’s “seemingly drunken press conferences” and questioned the clarity of her statements. She also condemned Pelosi for tearing up President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech and for a viral pandemic-era video filmed in her San Francisco home, which Lake claimed highlighted her disconnect from ordinary Americans.
Pelosi, who represented California’s 12th District since 1987, recently announced her retirement from Congress. Lake acknowledged Pelosi’s influence over Democratic lawmakers, noting she could “get them to fall in line” with her agenda. However, Lake expressed frustration with Republican unity, stating, “We have the greatest president… but it’s like herding cats sometimes in Washington, D.C.”
