ICE Arrest Clears Officer Facing Back Pay After Illegal Stay Verdict
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Radule Bojovic in October 2025 for allegedly overstaying a tourist visa by more than ten years. The Montenegrin citizen, who is now 25 years old, was reinstated to the Hanover Park Police Department on Monday, December 1, after an initial determination regarding his case.
Hanover Park officials stated that Bojovic returned to work following the conclusion of a bond not contested by the department. They emphasized his continued authorization to work and compliance with federal regulations during this period. Despite being arrested by ICE for immigration violations, Bojovic has been cleared pending resolution of his status.
Prior records indicate Bojovic was approved for employment benefits, including pension contributions, effective January 2025. His estimated annual salary is approximately $78,955, making significant back pay a factor in the department’s decision to reinstate him immediately following the initial hold placed by ICE on his service.
ICE cited its standard procedures regarding individuals whose immigration status was under review, leading Bojovic’s case initially to be frozen. The agency confirmed his visa overstay but did not contest the bond he secured or prevent a return-to-work assessment from Hanover Park officials once legal documents were processed.
