Hillary Clinton Affirms Bill Clinton Had No Knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s Criminal Activities

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton declared Thursday she is 100% certain former President Bill Clinton had no knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activities. The statement preceded Bill Clinton’s scheduled deposition by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
Clinton spoke after hours of testimony in Chappaqua, New York—the Clintons’ home state—addressing questions about her husband’s references in documents and photographs linked to Epstein that were recently disclosed by the Department of Justice. When asked whether she was “100% confident there isn’t anything that the former president knows about Epstein’s crimes,” Clinton responded: “I am, and I think the chronology of the connection that he had with Epstein ended several years before anything about Epstein’s criminal activities came to light.”
She noted Bill Clinton faced Florida state charges in 2008 for soliciting minors for prostitution but received a “sweetheart deal” that spared him federal prosecution. Clinton added, “Had the charges proceeded, perhaps his predatory behavior could have been stopped earlier.” She further stated, “The vast majority of people who had contact with him before his criminal pleas in ‘08 were like most people—they did not know what he was doing.”
Clinton confirmed she never visited Epstein’s island, homes, or offices. Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to Florida state charges and served an 18-month sentence through a work-release program before dying by suicide in August 2019 while awaiting federal trial on sex trafficking charges. His associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted in December 2021 for federal sex trafficking and is serving a 20-year prison term.
Clinton also noted that Maxwell attended Chelsea Clinton’s 2010 wedding as a guest, not as the “plus-one.” The deposition faced an interruption when a photo of Clinton at the hearing was leaked online. Committee member Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., reportedly shared the image with conservative commentator Benny Johnson.
Clinton described the disruption: “We had a bit of a challenge in the beginning because we had agreed-upon rules based on the fact it was going to be a closed hearing at their demand and one of the members violated that rule… So we had to cease the hearing for a period of time until we could get assurances that no rules would be broken going forward.” She added, “And we returned to answer questions repetitively, literally over and over again. I don’t know how many times I had to say I did not know Jeffrey Epstein.”
