Billie Joe Armstrong, frontman of Green Day, issued a sharp critique of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers during a pre-Super Bowl LX party in San Francisco on Friday, urging them to resign from their posts.

In his remarks, Armstrong warned that political leaders including Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, and Donald Trump would eventually abandon ICE officers “like a bad f–ing habit,” adding, “Come on this side of the line.”

The band is scheduled to perform at the musical portion of Sunday’s Super Bowl opening ceremony. Meanwhile, Bad Bunny, who recently won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards, also criticized federal immigration enforcement during his acceptance speech.

At the event, the Puerto Rican artist declared, “ICE out,” emphasizing that Americans are not “savages” or “animals” but rather “humans and we are Americans.”

The comments from both artists have drawn criticism in recent days, with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell later defending Bad Bunny’s inclusion in the Super Bowl halftime show.

Green Day has a history of political commentary, having previously updated lyrics on its iconic album American Idiot to reflect current events. In recent performances, the band altered the line from “I’m not part of the redneck agenda” to “I’m not part of the MAGA agenda,” and changed the lyric in “Holiday” from “the representative from California has the floor” to “the representative from Epstein Island has the floor.”
