Cruz Accuses Democrats of Fueling Fraudulent Welfare Spending
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has sharply criticized Democratic leaders for allegedly enabling widespread fraud in federal welfare programs. Speaking on “Rob Schmitt Tonight” via Newsmax, Cruz labeled such fraudulent activity as an “absolute scandal,” pointing specifically to Minnesota and Governor Tim Walz.
According to Cruz, alleged fraud amounting to billions of dollars has disproportionately benefited individuals within the Somali community who have been funneling funds back to Al-Shabaab – a radical Islamic terrorist group in Somalia. He stressed that taxpayer money is effectively supporting this terrorism through fraudulent means facilitated by Democrats.
Cruz also targeted New York Governor Kathy Hochul, questioning her refusal to release SNAP benefit recipient names and suggesting she would accept federal funding only if accountability remained unclear.
“This is an organized and systematic effort on the part of Democrats,” Cruz stated regarding the broader issue. “It’s a pattern; it goes beyond this incident.” He asserted that Democrats are actively supporting fraud through their policies, particularly in welfare spending programs funded by taxpayer money.
Cruz further claimed that individuals advocating for open borders and opposing stricter immigration controls – often described as sympathetic to radical Islamists – form an increasingly influential faction within the Democratic Party.
