Charlie Sheen Apologizes for Past Remarks to Dax Shepard After Two Decades
Charlie Sheen has publicly expressed regret for an incident involving fellow actor Dax Shepard that occurred two decades ago. The 60-year-old star shared his remorse during an Oct. 6 episode of Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, acknowledging a harsh comment he made at the time.
“I was a [expletive] to you one night. Not cool,” Sheen admitted, adding that the memory had lingered with him for years. Shepard, 50, responded with surprise, stating, “Tell me, because it’s so bizarre. I don’t remember that.”
Sheen recounted the incident, which took place around Halloween, when the two were discussing the challenges of celebrating the holiday with young children. He described feeling frustrated during the conversation, criticizing the experience before dismissing Shepard’s more positive account of the season. “I said, ‘Try it with [expletive] kids, dude,’ and it was so inappropriate,” Sheen reflected.
The apology came after Shepard noted that such moments often reveal how much guilt people carry internally. “You’ve built up a lot of it in your mind—[it’s] just you’re holding it. They weren’t,” he said.
Sheen also recently discussed his struggles with addiction during an appearance on “60 Minutes,” where he described being cut off by a Mexican drug cartel due to suspicions he was trafficking rather than using drugs. The remarks were part of promotion for his memoir, “The Book of Sheen,” and a Netflix documentary titled “aka Charlie Sheen.”
