Bryan Leib, a prominent Jewish community leader, described what he called a deepening identity crisis for the Heritage Foundation under its president, Kevin Roberts, who refuses to resign. The controversy stems from Roberts’ “warm embrace of Tucker Carlson.”

In recent remarks, Leib stated that the Heritage Foundation is experiencing a “self-inflicted wound” that has only worsened in recent weeks. He outlined consequences including the loss of the task force to monitor and combat antisemitism incubated at the foundation, millions in donations, and several influential senior fellows.

Leib noted that two additional board members have resigned, bringing the total to three. The crisis traces back to Carlson’s soft interview with Nick Fuentes, a white nationalist Holocaust denier, which sparked widespread outrage across political and donor circles. Critics accuse Heritage leadership of failing to distance itself from Carlson despite mounting pressure.

Leib added: “A lot of people are really starting to wonder: who is Heritage Foundation, what are they all about? No one really seems to know anymore other than they like to stand by Tucker Carlson.”

“This is a self-inflicted wound that keeps on — the blood just keeps pouring out,” Leib said.
