The U.S. Secret Service has increased its security presence at the White House, President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, and other protected sites nationwide following military strikes against Iran.

In a statement Saturday afternoon, the agency said it is “actively monitoring the situation in Iran and remains in close coordination with our federal and local partners.” The agency also noted that its protective model is designed to be adaptable for the current security environment, ensuring the safety of protectees, sites, and surrounding communities. “The public may notice an increased law enforcement and federal presence around U.S. Secret Service-protected sites,” the statement added.

The heightened security measures include all locations associated with President Trump, Vice President JD Vance’s residence, and the residences of former presidents as well as FBI headquarters.

A recent incident at Mar-a-Lago underscored the intensified vigilance: an armed individual carrying a shotgun and gasoline canister was killed by two Secret Service agents and a deputy sheriff after entering the estate’s inner perimeter.

Sources indicate President Trump and Vice President Vance were reportedly hundreds of miles apart when they coordinated Saturday’s strikes on Iran. Trump, accompanied by his national security team including Gen. Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, directed the operation from Mar-a-Lago where he was spending the weekend. Vance participated in a conference call from the White House Situation Room, where he was joined by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
