Clash Over Epstein Ties: Clinton Defers to Husband During Closed-Door Deposition
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., stated that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton repeatedly deferred questions to her husband, former President Bill Clinton, during a closed-door deposition related to the committee’s investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Comer said Clinton could not recall many of the questions, especially regarding the Clinton Foundation. He noted that Epstein referenced the Clinton Global Initiative multiple times and that Clinton claimed she had no involvement with it.
“During questioning, she repeatedly stated, ‘You’ll have to ask my husband that question,’” Comer said. “She was either in the Senate or running for president and had no recollection of Epstein’s ties to the Clinton Foundation.”
The committee chair added that the deposition involved approximately 600–700 questions—far exceeding a typical public hearing—and video of the testimony is scheduled for release within 24 hours. Comer also confirmed that Bill Clinton is set to testify in a separate deposition on Friday.
