U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee stated Thursday that U.S. military “assets and resources are being assembled” as Iran faces mounting pressure to abandon its nuclear program, with President Donald Trump reportedly “not bluffing” about taking action if Tehran does not comply.

During an interview on “American Agenda,” Huckabee emphasized there would either be “significant action” or Iran would decide “that Donald Trump isn’t kidding and they take the president at his word and they give up their nuclear aspirations.” The ambassador noted he prefers a diplomatic resolution but warned that Iran’s window to comply is narrowing, adding, “Let’s hope that’s what they do. I assure you, as someone sitting here where the bull’s-eye would be in the middle of a war, I’d much rather there be a peaceful conclusion to this.”

Huckabee affirmed U.S. officials understand President Trump is not bluffing when demanding Iran “give up enriched uranium and nuclear ambitions” within a limited timeframe. When pressed on potential military consequences, he highlighted the scale of U.S. forces in the region: “The amount of resources that the U.S. has put here, two carrier groups, the Lincoln and the Gerald R. Ford, a significant number of fighters and support planes—we’ve pretty much stacked up everything we have in the Middle East.”

Characterizing Iran as an enduring threat to America for 47 years, Huckabee referenced the 1979 U.S. Embassy takeover in Tehran and the subsequent hostage crisis that lasted 444 days. He stated Iran “tried to kill President Trump” by hiring an assassin and has killed “hundreds, perhaps thousands of Americans through the years.” Rejecting claims that Iran’s actions are solely Israel’s concern, Huckabee declared, “This is an issue for America.” He concluded that U.S. involvement would aim for a “realignment in the Middle East and a possibility for peace like we haven’t had in 47 years.”
