U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matt Whitaker stated Wednesday that President Donald Trump has drawn what he called “a very clear red line” against letting Iran obtain a nuclear weapon.

Whitaker said Trump is signaling both maximum pressure and an opening for negotiation with Iran while asserting that Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons. The ambassador described Iran as “the state sponsor of terrorism, the one that has proxy groups all over the Middle East that have attacked and killed American soldiers,” adding that the United States would not allow Trump’s red line to be crossed.

Trump posted a warning on his Truth Social platform Wednesday: “A massive Armada is heading to Iran. It is moving quickly, with great power, enthusiasm, and purpose… The next attack will be far worse! Don’t make that happen again.”

Whitaker noted that President Trump has many options as commander in chief and would move swiftly to protect Americans and maintain U.S. status as an unchallenged world superpower.
