Trump Claims Ilhan Omar Staged Urine-Colored Liquid Spray Incident at Town Hall Gathering
President Donald Trump declared Tuesday that Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., staged an incident involving what media described as a urine-colored liquid spray during a town hall gathering in Minneapolis.
Trump stated he had not viewed the event but claimed Omar “probably had herself sprayed, knowing her.” The alleged incident occurred when Omar walked toward Anthony Kazmierczak, 55, who was seated in the front row of a small meeting, and began spraying from a syringe. A witness reported a strong vinegar-like odor after the substance was released. Police identified Kazmierczak as the man targeted by the spray, with reports indicating he was tackled to the ground by an individual possibly serving as Omar’s security detail.
Minneapolis Council Member LaTrisha Vetaw and Democrat state Sen. Bobby Joe Champion also came into contact with the substance. No attendees reported physical reactions to the liquid. Omar described feeling flustered but unharmed following the incident, stating she would be medically screened. She later posted on social media: “I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work.”
Trump previously referred to Omar as “garbage,” stating during a December Cabinet meeting that she came from “a country that’s a disaster” and would not be allowed entry into the U.S., saying immigrants must “show they love our country” to be permitted.
