An FBI agent who investigated President Donald Trump’s post-2020 election activities has been removed from his position by FBI Director Kash Patel, according to two sources who spoke with MSNBC. Aaron Tapp, a 22-year veteran of the bureau specializing in fraud and cybercrimes, was linked to “Arctic Frost,” an FBI probe into actions by Trump and his team after the election.

Senate Republicans recently released documents tied to Arctic Frost, revealing that 45 individuals connected to Trump were identified for potential investigation, with $16,000 allocated for over 40 interviews. The scope extended to 111 figures in Trump’s political network, including Steve Bannon, Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, John Eastman, Jeffrey Clark, and Rep. Scott Perry.

Tapp’s dismissal followed the release of internal FBI documents, including 197 subpoenas targeting individuals involved in the probe. The Oversight Project, an X account, has focused on those linked to Arctic Frost, including Tapp. Sam Barron, a veteran journalist with nearly two decades of experience covering politics and crime, reported the story.
