Vice President JD Vance Praises Secret Service and Cincinnati Police for Quick Response to Home Break-In Attempt
Vice President JD Vance praised the Secret Service and local police for responding quickly to Monday’s attempted break-in at his Ohio home. In a statement, he expressed appreciation for the prompt action taken by security forces and noted that a suspect had attempted to force entry by hammering windows.
The vice president confirmed that no injuries occurred and stated his family was not present when the incident took place, having returned to Washington, D.C. He also called on news organizations to avoid publishing images of his residence with damaged windows, citing concerns about the privacy and safety of his children.
According to the Cincinnati Police Department, the suspect is William DeFoor, 26, a resident of Hyde Park who was detained and charged with obstructing official business, criminal damaging or endangering, criminal trespassing, and vandalism.
