The U.S. military’s intensified campaign against narco-terrorists is dismantling drug-trafficking networks across the Western Hemisphere and ensuring American safety through decisive action, according to Department of War press secretary Kingsley Wilson.
“We are sending a message to these cartels that if you traffic deadly drugs that kill Americans at catastrophic numbers, we will network you, we will hunt you down, and we will kill you,” Wilson stated in an interview on Newsmax’s “National Report.” She added, “We now have 61 confirmed kills. We are proud to continue to keep the homeland and the American people safe from this very dangerous and deadly threat.”
The operation aligns with President Donald Trump’s directive to classify major cartels as terrorist organizations, granting the Department of War expanded authority to act more aggressively. “What we have been focused on is taking out these boats wherever we find them,” Wilson said. “The president has given us the authority to do that by creating these groups as designated terrorist organizations.”
Wilson declined to confirm reports of U.S. plans to target military sites in Venezuela but emphasized readiness to act if ordered. “I won’t get ahead of anything the president may direct or not direct,” she said. “We as the military always stand ready to execute his direction.”
She compared cartels to terror groups posing an existential threat to Americans, calling them “the Al Qaeda of the Western Hemisphere.” Wilson highlighted that these networks have killed more Americans through drug trafficking than Al Qaeda and vowed to dismantle their “terror networks” to protect the public.
Wilson also addressed the National Guard’s new “quick reaction force,” clarifying it is a rebranded version of an existing program dating back over 20 years. “The National Guard has a long history of reaction forces… Now it is essentially being rebranded so everyone meets training requirements and metrics if called upon,” she said.
She underscored the military’s focus on homeland security and collaboration with law-enforcement partners, stating, “We prepare for every single scenario, every single contingency. We want to make sure the American people know they can be kept safe from terrorists and from crime and criminality.”
Wilson tied Trump’s strategy—including resuming nuclear testing and strengthening defense posture—to his belief in “peace through strength,” asserting that reinvesting in the Department of War enables better global peace projection.
